We are thrilled to share some incredible news made possible by your generous donations: nearly $10,000 worth of martingale collars and leashes have been purchased to help keep FWACC (Fort Worth Animal Care & Control) shelter dogs safe and secure during adoption events, outings, and foster stays! This vital investment is a true game-changer for the dogs who rely on the shelter's care, and we couldn’t have made it happen without the support of our amazing community.

For years, dogs at the shelter relied on flimsy blue slip leashes or flat collars—items that, while functional, often came with a risk. These collars and leashes were prone to slipping off or breaking, especially when a dog was anxious or pulling, which could lead to escape and dangerous situations. In high-stress environments, such as adoption events or outings, this was a constant concern for both the safety of the dogs and the volunteers working with them.

But now, thanks to your generosity, that worry is behind us.

We’ve been able to provide 1,750 high-quality martingale collars and 1,500 sturdy leashes, all supplied by our trusted partner, Campbell Pet Company. These new collars and leashes are specifically designed to prevent escape, providing better security and comfort for the dogs in our care.
