We are so proud to announce that Cowtown Friends has successfully raised $16,870 on North Texas Giving Day 2022 for shelter enrichment at Fort Worth Animal Care & Control! This would not have been possible without the generous support of our donors, who recognize the vital importance of enrichment in saving lives at animal shelters. Because shelter enrichment is not a city budget line, it depends on donations from our community.
By providing enrichment items such as peanut butter, dog treats, Kongs, Benebones, soothing scents, cat nip, and cat enrichment toys, we are helping animals stay happy and healthy while they wait for their forever homes. We have already met with shelter staff and have identified a list of monthly needs that amount to approximately $1,000 per month in standing orders across both shelter locations. In addition to these monthly standing orders, we will continue to work closely with staff at both shelter locations to determine what enrichment needs remain and we will make sure that these needs are met with the remainder of your generous donations from North Texas Giving Day.
