Our New Foster Supply Closet Initiative

Updated: Jan 23, 2023

Did you know that Fort Worth Animal Care & Control has close to 500 animals in foster care? Some amazing volunteers at FWACC suggested creating a foster supply closet in order to lessen the financial burden placed on shelter fosters by providing some basic supplies to the generous people that open up their homes and hearts to the homeless animals of Fort Worth.

When these volunteers asked for Cowtown Friends' support, we happily agreed and got to work quickly. The new Foster Supply Closet at Fort Worth Animal Care & Control is a wonderful initiative we are proud to support and supply. To date, we have already supplied items such as KONGS, dog crates, cat/small dog carriers, martingale collars, leashes, treats, newborn kitten and puppy supplies, and adopt me bandanas.

It only takes one act of kindness to make a difference. Donations are now being accepted to help meet the growing needs of these foster parents, who give their time and resources to care of homeless animals in Fort Worth. If would like to add to the foster supply closet, there are a few ways you can help:

1) Shop the Amazon Wishlist 2) Donate supplies to Fort Worth Animal Care & Control at 4900 Martin Street, Fort Worth, TX 76119. Please let staff know it needs to go to the foster closet/old cat adoption room. 3) Make a monetary donation to Cowtown Friends of FWACC by visiting cowtownfriends.org We are in need of the following supplies to assist our foster parents: bags of food (opened or unopened), canned dog & cat food, potty pads, martingale collars, harnesses, leashes, slip leads, tough chew toys (such as kongs, nylabones, or benebones), and treats. Our greatest need is currently crates - any kind of crate that can help foster families care for cats & dogs in foster homes would be greatly appreciated! Please consider donating to our foster closet supply initiative and helping us provide the essential supplies these animals need to live healthy and happy lives.

Your donations will help provide comfort to homeless animals in our community and make it easier for foster parents to care for them. Donate today and help the foster supply closet at Fort Worth Animal Care & Control meet its needs! Thank you for your support! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our furry friends.
